A new sports centre built under the Gazprom for Children program has been opened in St. Petersburg
Today in Metallostroy settlement, Kolpinsky District of St. Petersburg, the official opening ceremony of the new sports and recreation centre (SRC) built under the Gazprom for Children program took place.

The event was attended by the Governor of St. Petersburg Aleksander Beglov, the General Director of the Gazprom Social Initiatives Support Fund Vladimir Priymak as well as city representatives.

The SRC in Metallostroy is the first sports facility in this municipality where residents can do ice sports all year round. The centre includes a field of artificial ice with an area of 30 by 60 meters for hockey, figure skating and public skating. It houses several gyms as well as adult and children’s pools. Provisions for people with disabilities have been made. Up to 1,300 people per day will be able to exercise here.

In addition, two more new sports centres built under the Gazprom for Children program were launched today: in Peterhof and Moskovsky District of St. Petersburg.
