Gazprom Nedra LLC and the Republic of Kalmykia plan to cooperate in the development of oil and gas services
Vsevolod Cherepanov, General Director of Gazprom Nedra LLC, and Batu Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, signed an Agreement on Interaction and Cooperation on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in Moscow.

By signing this document, the parties demonstrated their mutual interest in carrying out joint activities aimed at developing the oil and gas industry in the Republic of Kalmykia, including the oil and gas services market. The agreement defines the general principles of mutually beneficial cooperation that both parties strive to implement. In particular, Gazprom Nedra LLC undertakes to agree with the Republic of Kalmykia and local authorities on plans for the location of new production facilities on its territory. The Company will also develop and carry out measures to prevent environmental pollution in the places of its activity and, in the event of accidents and emergencies, to promptly address their possible negative consequences.

In turn, the Republic of Kalmykia will ensure an equal position of Gazprom Nedra LLC among the companies operating in the republic, as well as provide information and legal support for its production activities. At the same time, the agreement emphasises that it is not aimed at limiting the cooperation of the parties with other companies to achieve the goals declared in the document.

Commenting on the conclusion of this agreement, Vsevolod Cherepanov, General Director of Gazprom Nedra LLC, expressed confidence that the partnership with the Republic of Kalmykia is off to a promising start. “Experts consider this region to be potentially highly promising in terms of undiscovered hydrocarbon reserves. We hope that cooperation with our company will provide significant assistance to Kalmykia in the geological study of the subsoil and become another driver of the republic’s economic development”, — stressed Vsevolod Cherepanov. “The agreement signed today is the result of consistent preparatory work. And we are glad that a new strategic partner is coming to Kalmykia. On the part of the region, we will do everything necessary to ensure that hydrocarbon production and geological exploration develop in the republic and new high-paying jobs appear as a result of our cooperation”, — said Batu Khasikov.
