Gazprom Nedra Company Confirms Gas-Bearing Capacity of Kovykta Gas Condensate Field Southern Flanks
Gazprom Nedra LLC has successfully completed testing another prospecting well within the eastern part of the Chikansky licence area (Irkutsk Region), located at the boundary of the Kovyktinsky and Khandinsky subsoil areas. Efforts were made to refine the geological structure of Parfenovo horizon pay zones occurring in the southern part of the (GCF).
Well testing resulted in a considerable production enhancement. Geological exploration works have proved high potential of the Kovyktinskoye GCF flanks (marginal zones).
In the course of the prospecting well construction, scheduled geological and geophysical works and studies were carried out. Also, core samples were taken from the Chorskaya formation, and the Parfenovo horizon reservoirs were assessed.
