In 2022, Gazprom Nedra LLC carried out 20 environmental measures aimed at minimising the environmental impact from production, improving the process organisation and training the company’s employees in environmental safety.

During the year, the Company performed environmental monitoring in 36 land areas and in 24 areas of the continental shelf of the Russian Federation. For instance, a number of projects were carried out in the seas of the Arctic and the Far East under a contract with the Geography Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The findings will contribute to the development of preventive measures designed to ensure the environmental safety and sustainable human exploration of the northern and far-eastern regions.

Last year over 9 million juvenile whitefish, chum salmon, grayling, northern whitefish and salmon were released into the water areas of Gazprom Nedra LLC’s regions of operation to artificially reproduce commercial high-end fish species. The company also ran a number of awareness-raising campaigns to promote an environmental mindset among the regional employees and residents.
