Gazprom Nedra builds new exploration wells in Yakutia

Gazprom Nedra LLC started drilling four exploration wells at the Chayandinskoye, Tas-Yuryakhskoye and Sobolokh-Nedzhelinskoye oil and gas condensate fields (OGCF) in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The work is being carried out as part of a comprehensive action plan to create gas production, gas transportation and gas processing facilities that use gas from fields in the Yakutsk gas production centre.

During exploratory drilling, all wells will be sampled to study the filtration-volume properties of the productive horizons and solve geomechanical modelling problems, and a set of geophysical studies will be performed. The construction programme includes open-hole testing of productive formations and production tubing tests.

Geological exploration works in Yakutia are an important part of the Eastern Gas Program which aims to create new gas industry centres in the eastern regions of Russia. The projects launched by the company this year will clarify prospects for potentially oil-and-gas-bearing reservoirs and increase the degree of exploration of target horizons,” said Vsevolod Cherepanov, General Director of Gazprom Nedra LLC.
