Research and Practical Works of Gazprom Nedra LLC Employees Awarded the N. K. Baibakov Prize

On October 19, a commemorative award ceremony for the winners of the N. K. Baibakov Prize for Sustainable Energy and Social Development was held as part of the Moscow Forum Energy Industry and Civil Society 2023” — “Russia’s fuel and energy sector: technological breakthrough on the basis of the fourth industrial revolution”. Two groups of authors from Gazprom Nedra LLC were among the prize winners.

Alexander Trusov, Deputy Director General and Chief Geologist, Evgeny Vaganov, Deputy Head of the Exploration Organization Department, and Nikolay Gavrik, Head of the Well Trial Operation Department, were awarded for their project “Development and implementation of the technology for preparing gas condensate to a stable state at the exploration well site during the test production period”. Two representatives of Gazprom PJSC were also honoured as part of the group of authors: Pavel Slugin, First Deputy Head of the Department, and Maria Emelyanova, Chief Process Engineer. Within the framework of research and practical study, the authors confirmed the economic and environmental feasibility of using the gas condensate extracted during the test production, developed a process flow chart for its preparation to a stable condition, and proposed options for the sale of finished products.

Among the winners of the N. K. Baibakov Prize are specialists of the Chief Power Engineering Department of Gazprom Nedra LLC: Evgeny Ignatyev, Chief Power Engineer and Head of the Department, and Chief Specialists Evgenia Bulycheva, Sergey Koshelev, and Azamat Utebaliyev. The group of authors was honoured for the project “Measurement noise generator for determining the contribution of consumers to the non-sinusoidality of the electric network voltage”, which provides a new approach to assessing the impact of electric consumers on the electric power quality indicators, which ultimately contributes to improving the energy efficiency of the electric network.

Alexey Ovechkin, Director General of Gazprom Nedra LLC, congratulated the laureates and emphasized the practical significance of the projects that received the prestigious award. “The technology developed by our geologists was successfully tested during the test production of exploratory wells at the Kovykta Gas Condensate Field. It is recommended for implementation at other Gazprom facilities, which will allow additional production and sale of tens of thousands of tons of high-quality liquid hydrocarbons per year. The experimental sample of the ternary pulse train generator created by the Company’s power engineers has been tested in laboratory conditions and is potentially ready for industrial application.”
