Sergey Tsivilev, Governor of Kuzbass and Chairman of the State Council Commission on Energy, made an opening statement noting that a large-scale social gasification programme is currently underway in Russia. According to him, accelerated domestic natural gas market development and gasification of Russian regions, increased production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) coupled with conversion of transport to gas fuel are vital to the country’s economic development, expansion of industrial production, addressing environmental issues and improving the investment climate. “Our regions show great potential for gas consumption”, S. Tsivilev said.

Vsevolod Cherepanov, General Director of Gazprom Nedra LLC, briefed the meeting participants on a draft energy and industry development project for the Krasnoyarsk Krai prepared by the company’s experts. He highlighted that Gazprom Nedra LLC “provides pioneering access for PJSC Gazprom to undeveloped licence areas across Russia”. The company suggests establishing advanced natural gas production in Krasnoyarsk Krai and constructing gas liquefaction plants at such licence areas, numbering more than ten, to provide gas supply to the southern Krasnoyarsk Krai regions. So far, a feasibility study for this two-year project has been prepared and accepted by the relevant departments of PJSC Gazprom.

“The potential natural gas consumers in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, including industry representatives, have shown considerable interest in the practical implementation of our proposals. Gazprom Nedra is committed to implementing similar projects in other regions where it operates”, Vsevolod Cherepanov stated.
