Gazprom Nedra Expands Its Sphere of Cooperation in Geological Exploration

On October 10 at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF-2024), Gazprom Nedra LLC signed cooperation agreements with two leading companies in the Russian geological exploration sector. Sergey Yakovlev, the Deputy General Director for Prospective Development, signed the documents on behalf of the company.

The agreement with JSC Rosgeologia is aimed at increasing the efficiency of geological exploration projects. This objective is to be achieved largely by exchanging experience, scientific knowledge and materials, and by collaborating on international and domestic projects, programs, and tenders aimed at regenerating RF mineral reserves.

The parties also agreed to explore opportunities regarding the use of existing technical and technological solutions and to jointly develop, manufacture and sell equipment and technologies for the oil and gas industry.

The Federal State Budgetary Institution “The All-Russian Geological Research Institute of A. P. Karpinsky” (Federal State Budgetary Institution “Karpinsky Institute”) is set to become another new business partner of Gazprom Nedra LLC. According to the agreement, the parties intend to collaborate on developing and implementing projects related to expeditions, scientific research, education and raising awareness regarding geology and subsoil use.

This mutually beneficial cooperation also extends to supplementary vocational education and advanced training programs; joint participation in projects aimed at the eventual regeneration of Russia’s mineral reserves is also envisaged.

Gazprom Nedra LLC and the Karpinsky Institute will support each other by providing equipment and technologies, exchanging information and equipment, collaborating on joint scientific research and practical projects to address geological tasks, and conducting research focused on implementation of innovative projects.

Commenting on the agreements, Sergey Yakovlev noted that JSC Rosgeologia and the Karpinsky Institute equally boast a robust foundation of scientific, production and technological resources, as well as a cutting-edge scope of competence.

“The business partnership between Gazprom Nedra and these companies will help the parties to enhance their competitiveness by facilitating the exchange of production experience, information, and technologies, in addition to streamlining costs during the implementation of joint projects,” emphasized Sergei Yakovlev.
