Volunteers from Gazprom Nedra LLC Celebrate Spring Kindness Week by Supporting Those Taking Part in the Special Olympics

The Gazprom Nedra group provided support to the Moscow figure skating team that took part in the All-Russian Special Olympics sports and athletics competition. The event was held in St. Petersburg from 22 to 25 April to coincide with the All-Russian Spring Week of Kindness, which has been bringing the country’s volunteers together since 1997.

430 athletes with special needs attended the sports and athletic event from across Russia, representing 27 regions of the country. The group included nine athletes from the Moscow figure skating team that was originally assembled under the auspices of the ANO Inclusive Center for Development of Adaptive Sports, Aesthetic Education and Social Support Crystal Puzzles. Since 2023, Gazprom Nedra LLC has been supporting the charity’s programs for the social and cultural habilitation and rehabilitation of children and young people with autism and other intellectual disabilities. These programs aim to prepare figure skaters for the Special Olympics events. This year, the company funded 116 hours of ice rink rental at the Ice Academy multifunctional sports and recreation complex and 73 hours at the Spartak Academy sports complex from March to October. This was to facilitate the training process.

During the All-Russian Special Olympics sports and athletics competition, volunteers from Gazprom Nedra LLC provided support to the Moscow figure skating team. Company representatives attended the event and offered support to the students of Crystal Puzzles as they performed. They also congratulated the athletes after the competition, presenting them with gifts to commemorate the occasion. The Moscow figure skating team achieved a commendable result at the competition, winning one silver and three bronze medals.
