Gazprom Nedra conducted comprehensive emergency response exercises in the Arctic

On 17–19 October, Gazprom Nedra LLC organised large-scale integrated training exercises on emergency response during drilling of exploration and prospecting and appraisal wells on the shelf of the Kara Sea. The activities were carried out during the drilling of an exploration well, which is carried out with the involvement of the semi-submersible floating drilling rig Severnoye Siyaniye (operating company — Gazprom Flot LLC).
During the training exercise, the joint actions of Gazprom Nedra LLC and specialised companies in the event of potentially hazardous situations were worked out. The training exercise included the following scenarios: Medical Evacuation of a Simulated Victim by Helicopter, Man Overboard, Extinguishing a Simulated Fire, Containment and Elimination of Oil and Oil Products Spill. The comprehensive high seas training exercises were successful. The scenarios were worked out in full, the interaction of the units was recognised as professional, and the readiness to respond to possible threats was complete.
In addition, the second phase of testing of the SeaDrone ME unmanned aerial vehicle, which was improved based on the results of testing in the last navigation season, took place. Experts tested the capabilities of a domestic drone that can be used to accompany exploration work in the Arctic.
